I had kind of guessed the ending but the curiosity of how the author will lead the narrative to that kept me hooked. The author has done fair justice I believe. There’s heavy philosophy and unanswered questions at the point where Nora(protagonist) was enjoying the life, I can understand that part must have been the toughest to think through and write. There were slight modifications to the midnight library’s rules that were set earlier. There’s also some uneasiness on the reader when Nora pops up in a random life and is clueless about the setting. Her disappointment seems inevitable as she’s in an alien world. But maybe that was irrelevant to the point which author was trying to communicate. If you see your life and measure it each moment on how you’re doing on self(or society) made metrics, you’ll be sad irrespective of place, luxury, fame and what not.

Overall, a very good perspective on how people deal with regrets and spiral into misery. You don’t need to live all versions of your lives. As long as you keep the same perspective, you’ll be miserable in all of them.

I liked how the author does not introduce any character loosely; they’re all connected and weave into a story at the end.
